I’m Sam and this is my blog. Saying (or writing) those words gives me a million mixed emotions but the truth of the matter is, this is a long time coming. After celebrating my 24th birthday, I finally made the decision to start this blog. The main reason for being so against this in the past was the thought that kept popping into my head of “why would people care to read about my life?”
I am not famous. I don’t travel the world or make world class meals. I don’t have a walk in closet the size of most one bedroom apartments or have any fun DIY products to sell you. I didn’t steal America’s heart on a reality show or become an overnight YouTube sensation.
But here are a few things about my life…
I am a recent college graduate living in Philadelphia. I grew up in a small town in Maine and I absolutely loved and still love calling it my home. I was a Navy Brat and I am VERY proud of that. I LOVE beer and a large majority of what I will post on here will more than likely be related to my love for craft beer, breweries and home brewing. I can’t go more than two weeks without eating chicken wings of some sort or I will get EXTRA moody. I enjoy the very simple things in life like a nice scenic drive or an afternoon of movies and coffee, but I also dream of gallivanting along the Amalfi Coast sipping wine and eating exotic cheeses. I adore sports and bleed for Philly teams (rough time to be alive, I know). I have a regular ol’ 5-9 job in a career that has NOTHING to do with my degree. I have a wonderful family, kick-ass friends and an amazing man in my life supporting my every move.
At the end of the day, I live a pretty average life and like most people, I have struggles. I have student loans and bills and real emotions and a desire to still live life and HAVE FUN. I may live a pretty average life, but I try to make it the most exciting one possible. After all, this may be a pretty average life, but it’s my life and it’s the only one I’ve got!
That is why I decided this blog was a good idea. I am proud of this life I live, including the struggles. My hope is that everyone else who feels like maybe their life if just average will follow me along on this journey and maybe it will, whether big of small, encourage you to go do a few things you have never done before, too! Maybe you will cook a recipe you have had saved for years, read a book that’s been sitting on your shelf collecting dust, get out and take that day trip, write more. Whatever your reason for being here, I hope you enjoy this adventure of mine I call life.
So cheers to you and cheers to 25 things I always wanted to do before I was 25 and every little thing in between.
